Kenneth, age 100, was born on February 11, 1920, to Carl and Edna Duenow and was the 3rd oldest of eight children. Kenneth graduated high school in 1937 from St. Ansgar. He courted and married Shirley (Palmer) Duenow on September 27, 1941. Kenneth and Shirley had 1 daughter, Judy (Duenow) Low, who was the apple of her father's eye.

Prior to meeting Shirley, Kenneth attended barber school in Minneapolis, Minnesota; however, circumstances changed and he returned to Iowa, met his wife and began farming. Kenneth was a farmer for many years in both the rural communities of Osage and St. Ansgar, Iowa. He was a kind soul and a devoted husband. Kenneth supported and participated in many of Shirley's endeavors including many flower shows, garden club, and 4-H activities. He and Shirley enjoyed traveling across the US to visit various relatives and friends and were able to visit all 50 states. Together, they enjoyed playing cards, having coffee with friends locally and they attended just about every sporting and singing event their grandchildren were ever a participant in. Kenneth loved horses and spent his last years of farming on the Duenow family farm east of St. Ansgar. They retired from the farm to St. Ansgar in 1984. Kenneth has been a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his daughter, Judith, parents, Carl and Edna, his brothers Wayne, Merlyn, Carl and John, and his sisters, Shirley and Eleanor.
